The Sasha Burakow Touched By An Angel Memorial Fund is dedicated to enriching the lives of pediatric hospital inpatients through the Boredom Busters Program.

HISTORY
The Sasha Burakow Touched By An Angel Memorial Fund was established in honor of Alexandra "Sasha" Marie Burakow on June 23, 2004. The Fund is an endowment housed at the Duke University Office of Development and supports the Boredom Busters program at Duke University Medical Center where Sasha volunteered as a freshman.

The initial fund raising campaign took place in the Spring of 2005 and was extremely successful. Through the coordinated efforts of many of Sasha's friends and family at Duke and elsewhere, the Fund was able to raise over $20,000 from donors all over the country. Duke University later recognized the Fund by giving it the "Philanthropy Program of the Year" at the 2005 Greek Awards. The campaign in 2005 also raised enough money to support the first Boredom Busters boxes delivery to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center in the Spring of 2006.

As of February 2010, the total amount of donations received is $29,052.21.
